WWII Wehrpass & Currency Note of a Concentration Camp Guard
$650.00
The Army wehrpass was issued in 1940 to Johann Kohlstrom, who was born in 1897. The wehrpass entries reflect that Kohlstrom served in World War I from 1915 to 1918 with the 11th (Pomeranian) Dragoon Regiment “von Wedel”. He was recalled to active duty in World War II, with eventual assignment in 1944 to the SS Wachkommando at the concentration camp in Mittelbau, thereafter being assigned in January of 1945 to the SS Totenkopf Wachbattalion of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Tucked inside of the front pocket of the wehrpass is a currency note for the camp canteen at the Mittelbau camp. The wehrpass exhibits typical signs of age and use, with spots and stains, but it is complete and intact with legible entries.
