WWII Theater Made Japanese Katana in Civilian Mounts with Leather Combat Scabbard Cover

$750.00

An interesting sword produced in China or South-East Asia for a Japanese officer. The mounts are Japanese design but generally of lesser quality. The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 39 inches, with a blade length of approximately 25-1/2 inches. The blade has a generally gray cast, with multiple spots but without nicks, chips or active rust. The tang is unsigned. The ray skin covered grip is wrapped in the traditional fashion with golden fabric and the grip is without menuki decoration, The tsuba guard is a solid brass style, with the sword having a plain brass ferrule and pommel. The scabbard is within a leather combat cover which shows typical scuffs and signs of use in the field, but it is complete and intact and the leather hanging strap remains affixed to the scabbard ring.
