Group consists of: 19 WWII Photographs of RAF Spitfires and Pilots. The black and white photographs are approximately 3 7/8 inches by 4 7/8 inches. Based on the visible squadron marking of “MV” on the Spitfires, the aircraft belonged to Number 600 Squadron of the Royal Air Force. This unit was a night fighter squadron which was credited with participation in the combat operations in France and the Low Countries in 1940; the Battle of Britain; Home Defense from 1940 to 1942; North Africa; Italy; and Germany. The photographs of the pilots are excellent studies of Royal Air Force pilots in flight gear. Photos came with an RAF Pilot Wing , machine embroidered on wool, unpadded, with intact fabric backing and in excellent condition. Also a pair of RAF Sergeant Chevrons in excellent condition.
