WWII Navy Pilot’s 10K Wing Reverse Engraved “Wm E. Fly U.S.N.” – Commanded the USS Essex

Excellent condition, 2-7/8 inches, with flat sided sterling clutches. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1940 and retired from the United States Navy as a Carrier Pilot after 30 years of service where he had tours of duty as Air Group Commander (CAG4) and at CAR Div Two, First Fleet Staff, National War College, USS Essex CO and The Joint Chiefs of Staff. He also taught school at the Naval Academy and the Naval War College.
