The MK 2 “pineapple” fragmentation hand grenade has a horizontal slot on one side for the insertion of coins, with the painted notation of “BUY WSS” (War Savings Stamps). The base of the grenade can be opened with a flat head screw driver to remove the coins. The top of the fuse and the “spoon” handle exhibit surface rust.
