WWII M35 Combat Helmet with Paint and Zimmerit Camouflage Finish

The M35 helmet was given an application of a dark field gray paint that was thickened with zimmerit, giving the helmet a non reflective and camouflaged surface. The exterior finish is approximately 95% intact, with a few small spots of white paint or a similar light substance. The interior liner is complete and intact, showing dark sweat stains from wear in the field. The drawstring is present. The chin strap is missing, as are the chin strap bales. The numeric size of the helmet was obscured by the painting of the helmet, but the letters “NS” can be made out, this being the manufacturer code of the helmet firm of Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke, of Schwerte.
