WWII M1 Bayonet by Springfield Armory

$150.00

The bayonet is dated 1918, and it was originally manufactured at the Springfield Armory for use in World War I. With the onset of world War II, the bayonet was cut down from its original length to the new configuration of the M1 bayonet. The ricasso bears the mark of the Springfield Armory on one side along with the date of 1918. The opposite side of the ricasso has the “U.S.” mark and a serial number. The blade shows some wear to the blued finish. The bayonet has brown Bakelite grip plates, which show scratches and minor dents, and with the grip on one side having a chip immediately above the guard. Both the guard and the pommel exhibit a largely intact finish. The olive green fiberglass scabbard bears the manufacturing mark of the Victory Products Company. Overall very good field used condition.
