The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 38 inches, with a blade length of approximately 26 inches. The blade shows spots, scratches, and surface grime, with indications of sharpening of the cutting edge. The blade is numbered “65807”, positioned to be read with the cutting edge of the blade facing upwards, indicating production by the Nagoya Arsenal. The throat of the scabbard shows the same number. The tsuba guard is the plain solid iron variety. The metal grip retains most of its painted finish. The steel scabbard exhibits typical wear to the painted finish from use in the field, but the scabbard is intact. Overall the sword is in good field used condition.
