WWII Japanese Red Cross Officer Dagger

The dagger has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 17 inches, with a blade length of approximately 11 inches. The blade has a matte finish, with surface dirt, spots and some scratches, but being generally quite clean. The grip is tortoiseshell and it is without chips, nicks, or damage, and it retains the tightly wrapped twisted wire. The brass Kikyo flower device is present on the grip. The pommel cap, guard, and scabbard fittings exhibit typical age toning and uncleaned patina. The leather covering of the scabbard shows spots and some scuffing from carrying wear. The dagger scabbard has a release button that is fully functional. Overall excellent condition.
