WWII Japanese Personal Body Armor

Personal body armor vest constructed from a series of steel plates, covered in olive green fabric, designed to cover the wearer’s torso. The armor vest is approximately 14 inches long by 13 inches wide. The vest drapes over the wearer’s neck and ties securely to his chest with cotton straps and metal rings on the sides of the vest. A cloth tag on the reverse of the armor identifies the vest as “Steel Body Wear” for self-protection. The label declares that the armor is a quality product “Carefully produced; reverently made” by the “East Asia Industrial Research Institute”. Some spots and snags as evidence of minor wear but overall very clean condition.
