The brown leather case is approximately 7-3/4 inches wide by 10-3/4 inches long by 1-1/2 inches deep. The case includes the fabric shoulder strap. The front of the case has a pocket for placement of maps or documents, with a cover flap that has painted kanji on the underside. The exterior of the pocket has five pockets for carrying pens or pencils. The rear of the case opens up to double the width of the case. The rear is closed by a cover flap with five metal snap closures, with one of the “male” components missing. when the case is opened and expanded on the back there are two pockets, each covered with clear celluloid, into which maps could be placed and then marked by writing on the plastic coverings. These two plastic-covered sections are divided and protected by a piece of green velvet that is secured on the interior. Overall the case is in excellent lightly field used condition.
