WWII Japanese Navy Officer Visor Cap

$275.00

The black wool visor cap of an officer of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The black leather visor shows typical age crazing. The ribbed white top has the expected surface soiling, black wool body with no holes or damage. The black leather chin strap is secured with gilt officer buttons bearing the anchor and chrysanthemum. The front of the cap displays the well toned gold bullion insignia of a naval officer. The interior has the purple silk lining seen in officer’s caps, with the officer’s name written on the name tag in kanji: “Suho” (Interestingly, the officer wrote his name in the western style, from left to right. This same officer’s white field cap is being offered on this site as item number 28533). Overall very good condition.
