The dark blue wool body of the cap is quite clean, without holes, damage or repairs. The front of the cap displays bullion and metal insignia of an officer of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The surface of the visor shows some indentations into the finish from the chin strap. The interior leather sweatband is intact, as is the purple silk lining. The lining is embroidered with kanji, being the name of the officer who owned the cap. Overall the visor cap is in very good condition and it makes a fine appearance.
