WWII Japanese Navy Officer Kai Gunto Sword Signed “Inaba”
$1,650.00
The navy officer kai gunto sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36 inches, with a blade length of approximately 24 inches. The sword blade is bright, while showing some diagonal scratches and smudges, but displaying a subtle temper line and without nicks, chips or rust. The tang has a single mounting hole, as well as the designation in kanji of “Inaba”. The tang also has the faint anchor within a circle mark of the Toyokawa Arsenal. The ray skin grip is wrapped in the traditional style with dark brown fabric. Beneath the wrapping are the standard toned gilt military menuki of three cherry blossoms. The tsuba guard is the solid style. The scabbard, with classic navy fittings, shows age, with scratches and scuffs, but it is complete and intact. Overall very good condition.
