WWII Japanese Navy Officer Green Field Cap

$525.00

A exceptional example of the field cap of an Imperial Japanese Navy that was unquestionably worn in the Pacific Theater of Operations. The green cotton cloth of the cap was faded by constant exposure to the Pacific sun until becoming almost khaki in color. The black bands of rank that surround the body of the cap were similarly sun faded to a brown color. The machine woven officer insignia that is affixed to the front of the cap shows wear from use, while the cap itself has areas of sweat staining. Despite its obvious wear and use in the combat theater, the cap remains in very good condition, and it is free of holes or tears. The cap unquestionably has what would be called the “been there” look.
