WWII Japanese Navy Officer Dagger

The dagger blade shows scratches, some spots of plating loss, and a small chip to the cutting edge. The celluloid grip is without damage, remaining wrapped with brass wire, one strand of which is slightly loose but intact. The guard, pommel, and scabbard fittings all have a dark and uncleaned patina. There is a circular area on the scabbard which shows a loss of a piece of the imitation ray skin covering, approximately 3/4 of an inch in diameter.
