WWII Japanese Army Officer’s Cloth Map and Document Case with Enclosures
Uncommon white cloth map case retaining its full shoulder strap. The Japanese Army star insignia is stitched to the cover of the case. There are two kanji characters inside the cover of the case. The case contains a holder for pens or pencils as well as a stiffened sheet that is marked as a “Presspan Sheet”, with printed Japanese kanji following the designation, presumably the same term in Japanese. Additionally, there is a significant amount of faint writing in kanji that is still visible on this sheet. The case shows soiling and expected signs of use in the field but it is in overall very good field used condition. The case is approximately 7 by 10 1/2 inches, exclusive of the shoulder strap.
