WWII Japanese Army Officer Shin-Gunto Sword Signed “Komori Katsuyuki”

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 39-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 24-1/2 inches. The sword blade is clean and bright with no damage. The blade displays a visible and distinct wavy temper line. The tang has a single mounting hole and displays the signature “Komori Katsuyuki” and displat a Seki stamp. The ray skin grip is wrapped in the traditional style with golden brown fabric, with the wrap showing minor soiling from handling. Beneath the wrapping are the standard military menuki of three cherry blossoms. The tsuba guard is the solid style, with relief cherry blossoms. The scabbard locking button remains in working order. The scabbard paint is mostly intact with areas of staining and light surface rust.
