WWII Japanese Army Officer Map Case and Photographs Group

The group consists of a large leather Japanese Army officer’s map case, approximately 7-1/2 inches wide by 12 inches long by 3 inches deep. The case retains the full shoulder strap and it is the style which opens in the rear, expanding and having pockets with clear plastic covers into which maps could be inserted and marked on the plastic covers. There is handwritten kanji on the interior of the cover flap. The map case is accompanied by 17 photographs of varying sizes, depicting military personnel. One of these photographs also has handwritten kanji notations on the reverse.
