WWII Japanese Army EM/NCO Canteen
The exterior paint of the canteen is largely intact, showing typical scuffs from use in the field, and with what appears to be a few indistinct kanji or letters. The fabric harness and shoulder strap exhibit soiling, with the harness bearing stitched kanji, almost certainly the name of the soldier who carried the canteen. The canteen has a fabric stopper retention strap, a wartime economy measure that replaced the leather stopper strap. The shoulder strap similarly shows the wartime economy measure of the elimination of metal adjustment buckles. Overall very good field used condition.
