WWII Japanese Army EM/NCO Canteen

The canteen is an earlier war example, having a leather stopper retention strap with metal buckles; a stopper with a metal top; and a shoulder strap which was adjusted with metal buckles, all of these being features which were eliminated during the war to conserve strategic materials. The canteen shows wear to the painted finish. The front of the canteen has painted kanji, with what appears to be additional kanji characters scratched into the neck of the canteen. The base of the canteen has a manufacturer mark. The metal components exhibit rust. The full web harness and shoulder strap show stains and soiling but they are intact. Overall the canteen is in good field used condition.
