WWII Japanese 1,000 Stitch Sennibari Belt with Magic Kanji and “God of War” Shrine Stamp
$200.00
The cotton belt is approximately 68 inches long, exclusive of the ties. The belt bears 1,000 knotted stitches, with the belt showing typical signs of wear and use, having spots and stains but being intact. The stitching of the knots includes kanji characters and there is also a red shrine stamp present on the belt. The kanji are pronounced “Sa-Mu-Ha-Ra,” which is a Neo-Shinto chant to ward off enemy bullets. The “magic kanji” are contrived and cannot be found in online dictionaries. The red seal is from the Kō Hachiman [the so-called “God of War”] Shrine located in Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. Overall very good field used condition.
