WWII Italian Army Brigadier General’s Tunic
$1,250.00
The tunic carries heavily bullion embroidered General’s shoulder boards and each sleeve displays the bullion embroidered rank insignia of a Brigadier General. Above the left breast pocket are sewn 12 ribbons for various Italian Orders, decorations and medals, including the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus; the Cross of Military Valor; the Italian Order of the Crown; the Italian Military Long Service Medal; the Medal of the Italian-Turkish War of 1911-1912; the World War I War Merit Cross; and the Medal for the 1908 Earthquake (Interestingly, although this General had clearly served in World War I, he did not wear the ribbon of the First World War Allied Victory Medal, no doubt an effort to avoid offending the German allies with whom he was serving during the Second World War). The tunic has a very small hole on the lower left pocket that is not particularly noticeable at all. The tunic has some light spots and signs of wear to both the interior and the exterior, but overall the tunic is in excellent lightly used condition.
