WWII German Luftschutz / Sicherheits und Hilfs Dienst Medical Kit with Contents

The medical kit was used by a medical group of the Luftschuts air defense organization and the SHD (“Sicherheits und Hilfs Dienst”, or “Security and Assistance Service”). The lid bears a Luftschutz unit designation, the “SHD” desoignation, the and title of “Luftschutz Verbandkasten” (“Air Defense Organization First Aid box”).  The box itself is approximately 13-1/2 inches wide by 4 inches high by 7 inches deep. The box retains its contents, including bandages packaged by the German Red Cross; medical instruments; and medical devices. One of the closing latches is somewhat loose, but overall the medical kit is in excellent condition.
