WWII German K98 Mauser Combat Bayonet by Josua Corts in British Web Frog

$225.00

The bayonet shows some wear to the blued finish of the blade, but it is generally clean and without nicks, chips or rust. The bayonet ricasso bears a code on one side of “43ddl”, reflecting production in 1943 by the firm of Josua Corts. The opposite side of the bayonet has the serial number of “3320” on the ricasso. The dark brown Bakelite grips are without chips or cracks. Both the guard and the pommel exhibit wear to the blued finish. The top of the pommel shows waffen amt marks. The scabbard throat is marked “cof43”, indicating production of the scabbard in 1943 by the firm of Carl Eickhorn. The opposite side of the scabbard throat has a number which does not match the blade number and which appears to be “6744”. The bayonet scabbard shows wear to the finish, particularly on the obverse. The bayonet is within a British 1937 Pattern web frog. Overall very good condition.
