WWII German K98 Combat Bayonet with Matching Numbers by Paul Weyersberg & Co. with Frog

$250.00

The blade shows spots and wear to the blued finish, particularly towards the tip end of the blade. The ricasso bears the manufacturer code of “42 crs”, reflecting production in 1942 by the firm of Paul Weyersberg & Company. The opposite side has a serial number which matches the serial number on the throat of the scabbard. The brown Bakelite grip plates are without chips or cracks. The finish is intact on the guard and the pommel and exhibits an uncleaned patina. The top of the pommel have waffen amt marks. The scabbard shows wear to the finish with typical signs of use in a combat theater. The black leather frog similarly shows age and use, although the frog itself is not in fact a German military example and was presumably “scavenged” by a German solider to replace his own damaged frog. Overall very good field used condition.
