WWII German K98 Combat Bayonet with Matching Numbers by Clemen & Jung with Frog

The blued finish on the blade is largely intact, showing some wear towards the lower point area. The ricasso is manufacturer marked by the firm of Clemen & Jung, while on the opposite side the ricasso is numbered “8501”. Both the pommel and the flash guard are waffen amt marked, and retain much of the blued finish. The wood grip plates have a small chip on each side, but the grip plates are without cracks and intact. The scabbard throat is also dated “8501” and it is manufacturer marked by Clemen & Jung together with the date of 1938. The scabbard has lost most of the blued finish on the areas below the frog, with the reverse side having a horizontal indentation that does not effect the ability to draw or sheath the bayonet. The black leather frog shows age crazing and signs of use, but it is pliable, complete and intact. Overall very good condition.
