WWII German K98 Combat Bayonet by Berg & Co.
A German World War II K98 combat bayonet with an approximate overall length of 15 1/4 inches, including a blade of 10 inches. The blade has a blued finish in fine condition. The blade ricasso is marked is “43agv”, indicating production in 1943 by Berg & Co, Solingen-Ohligs. The reverse ricasso is numbered “6687”, with the scabbard numbered “4551”, The blued finish of the pommel and guard is largely intact. The bayonet wood grip plates are without chips or cracks. The bayonet is within its original metal scabbard with leather frog. The scabbard retains most of its original blued finish and has two shallow dents on the obverse side. The leather grip strap is torn at the hole which fits over the stud.
