WWII German Army Panzer Officer Black Overseas Cap
$2,900.00
The black wool overseas cap displays a small national eagle that is hand sewn to the front peak. The eagle itself is machine woven in gray white thread on a black base. Below the eagle is the heavy officer bullion cockade, also hand sewn to the front of the cap inside of the pink soutache representing the panzer troops. The ends of the soutache are correctly placed through openings in the flap and sewn down inside of the flap interior. The front scalloped edge of the cap is piped in silver bullion cord, as is the entire crown of the cap. The bullion piping on the crown is correctly secured at the rear by overlapping the ends of the piping. There is some minor rubbing of the silver piping on the scalloped front of the cap, which appears to be more storage wear than anything resulting from actual use, since the cap shows few signs of ever actually having been worn. The body of the cap is without stains or holes, as is the interior. The interior of the cap is fully lined in black Rayon, which is without holes or perspiration stains. The front interior of the cap is lined with a strip of black leather which, like the rest of the cap, shows no signs of wear or use. The interior crown of the cap bears the manufacturer stamp of Adolf Ludwig and the size of 56.
