WWII Front Seam Fixed Bale M1 Combat Helmet

The helmet exterior has a dark brown patina, reflecting a loss of most of the olive drab paint with scuffs, spots, surface rust and abrasions typical of use in the combat theater. The helmet exhibits remnants of the olive drab paint on the magnesium helmet rim. The full web chin strap is in place across the back of the helmet, with the interior ends secured to fixed bales. The chin strap closure also shows surface rust. The helmet liner is a Westinghouse example, with largely intact exterior paint and a complete internal web system. The liner is lacking the chin strap. Overall good combat used condition.
