WWII Army Type 90 Combat Helmet with Cover and Net

$2,450.00

An outstanding example of the World War II Japanese Army Type 90 combat helmet which is complete with its original combat cover and camouflage net. The cover is the first pattern, without the reinforced edge. The cover appears to have been on the helmet since the war and as such it was not removed to photograph the exterior of the helmet shell. However, the metal Army star insignia can be felt on the helmet beneath the cloth star on the front of the cover. The light colored cover shows the expected spots and signs of use but it is in excellent condition, as is the camouflage net. The interior of the helmet has a complete liner which, again, shows the signs of having been worn but it remains in excellent used condition. Interestingly, all three leather liner sections were produced in different colors. Two of the “pillows” behind the liner pads are filled while the third is not, most likely reflecting a method that the original owner used to adjust the interior size of the helmet. The cloth chin strap shows some discoloration from perspiration but it is complete and uncut. Overall an exceptional example of a complete Type 90 combat helmet with its original cover and camouflage net.
