WWII AN M-8 Flare Pistol with Holster and “Flown Over Japan” Tag

The metal body of the flare gun shows uncleaned patina, verdigris, and some areas of surface rust. The Bakelite grip plates are without chips or cracks. The side of the flare gun bears the manufacturer mark of the Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Company. The back strap is serial numbered, and the base of the grip bears the letter “P”. Tied to the trigger guard is an old tag with the handwritten notation “Flown over Japan during WWII”. The leather holster shows age but it is complete and intact.
