WWII 8th Air Force Lt. Colonel Pilot’s “Pinks and Greens” Uniform with Bullion Insignia

The uniform consists of the olive green wool gabardine “Ike” jacket and the “pink” wool gabardine trousers. The jacket is thoroughly badged in bullion insignia, with bullion “U.S.” and winged propeller collar insignia; a bullion pilot’s wing; bullion Lieutenant colonel rank insignia on the shoulders; a bullion Army Air forces patch on the left shoulder; and a bullion 8th Air Force patch on the right “combat service” shoulder. On the upper left breast is a four place ribbon bar that is sewn to the uniform and that consists of the ribbons for the Purple Heart; the Air Medal; the American Defense Medal; and the European Campaign Medal. Both the jacket and the trousers are very clean and, while they show signs of actual wear and use, they are without stains, holes or damage. The set makes an excellent appearance.
