WWII 82nd Airborne Division 1st Allied Airborne Army Ike Jacket

The Ike jacket was tailored from the soldier’s four pocket enlisted tunic and it bears a size stamp of 40 Long. The jacket has screw back collar disks, these being the “U.S.” disk and the infantry branch disk. On the upper left breast is sewn the oval backer of the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment, bearing a pin back, sterling, airborne glider troop wing. Below the wing are individual ribbons for the Purple Heart, the Army Good conduct Medal, and the European Campaign Medal with three campaign stars and an invasion arrowhead. Below the ribbons is the Combat Infantry Badge in sterling, with clutch fasteners. On the upper right breast is the honorable discharge eagle patch, above a Presidential Unit citation ribbon. On the left shoulder is the patch of the 82nd Airborne Division, while the lower left sleeve has four bullion overseas service stripes. On the right shoulder is the patch of the 1st Allied Airborne Army. The jacket is without holes or stains, other than one small hole in the upper back, and overall it is in excellent condition.
