WWII 11th Airborne Division Ike Jacket and M1942 Jump Jacket

From a local Pennsylvania estate, the Ike jacket is tagged as a size 36 Short. The interior pocket contains a Quartermaster Depot tag which is dated 1945. The front of the jacket carries a sterling silver, clutch back, paratrooper wing on an airborne unit oval of dark blue twill with a lighter blue border. Below the wings are two pin back ribbon bars with the ribbons for the Purple Heart; the Army Good Conduct Medal; the American Campaign Medal; the Pacific Campaign Medal with three campaign stars and an arrowhead; the Philippine Liberation Medal with two campaign stars; and the World War II Victory Medal. On the upper left sleeve is a two piece shoulder patch of the 11th Airborne Division, while on the lower left sleeve are four overseas service stripes. The Ike jacket shows some soiling and small, scattered holes. The M1942 Jump Jacket has on the front left side the large, wool patch for “United States Paratroops”. The wool patch shows soiling and holes. The jacket itself has a depot tag in the lower right pocket which is washed out. In the collar of the jump jacket is an indistinct laundry mark, The initial letter of the laundry mark is not clear, while it appears to be followed by the numbers “4688”. The jacket includes the belt. The jacket shows extensive field wear, with soiling and spots, as well as fraying of the bottom edges and two tears in the lower right sleeve above the cuff. All of the snap closures are present on the cuffs, pockets, and collar. The zipper pull component is missing from the zipper.
