WWI Unit Marked Model 1895 Prussian NCO Pickelhaube

$675.00

The Model 1895 pickelhaube is lacquered leather construction with brass front visor trim, brass helmet plate, brass “fish scales” chin strap, brass rear spine with ventilation hole, and a short brass spike on a brass circular base with domed rivets. The spike is non-removable. The exterior of the helmet body shows typical age crazing, and there are a number of surface indentations to the rear visor finish. The rear visor itself is slightly loose from the loss of a few stitches on one end. The helmet plate and chin strap both have residue of old polish. both cockades are present. The interior liner shows wear, and it is lacking the drawstring, but it is complete. The interior of the rear visor is marked to Prussian Infantry Regiment 137 (2nd Lower Alsatian), which was garrisoned at Hagenau and was a part of the XXI Army Corps, serving on both the eastern and western fronts during the war.
