WWI Medals and Dog Tags Group

The group is comprised of the World War I medals and dog tags of “Sam R. Snoddy”. The group is comprised of the World War I Victory Medal with the clasps “St. Mihiel”; “Meuse-Argonne”; and “Defensive Sector”, on a full wrap brooch suspension. The ribbon shows some wear. Also present in the French Verdun Medal on a prong suspension, and the French “Soldier of the Marne Medal”, a commemorative medal honoring service during the battles along the Marne River in France in 1918, on a French bar suspension. Additionally, the group includes the Missouri World War I service medal, from which the suspension ring and knob were removed. The group also includes an identification bracelet, named to “Sam R. Snoddy” of “Bat. C”, with the reverse engraved with the number “1463406”. The group also includes Snoddy’s World War I dog tags, which are on a chain with a small photograph of a young woman, presumably Snoddy’s wife. Also present on the chain is a pair of Korean War era dog tags for “Sam R. Snoddy, Jr.”. Overall the items in the group are in very good condition.
