WWI M1917 U.S. Marine Corps Combat Helmet

A World War I Model 1917 combat helmet worn by a U.S. Marine, with the large eagle, globe and anchor screw back insignia mounted to the front of the helmet. The exterior brown paint is essentially 100% intact and virtually all of the sand finish is present and complete. There is an old label on the interior which bears the handwritten notation of “Am. Helmet” and a name, which might be the name of the Marine who wore the helmet. The helmet has its original liner and chin strap and is in excellent condition.
