The tin plate pickelhaube retains much of its field gray painted finish on the exterior. The matte gray front Prussian eagle helmet plate, the spike, and the spike base, all show an uncleaned patina. The body of the helmet exhibits several typical indentations. A replacement leather chin strap is present on the helmet, with the helmet retaining the Prussian and the national colors cockades. The interior liner shows wear and some tears and missing pieces but it is largely intact. The front of the helmet bears painted embellishments, with the right side having what appears to be a rendering of the ribbon of a 1914 Iron Cross, while the opposite side has a black indistinct embellishment. Overall the helmet is in good field used condition.
