The visor cap is constructed of field gray wool with a black cap band, with both the crown and the cap band being piped in red. The black cap band denoted service in Artillerie, Pioniere and Verkehrstruppen branches, with the Verkehrstruppen including railway, telegraph, aircraft crews, balloon and zeppelin personnel. The front of the cap displays EM or NCO rank Prussian and national colors cockades. The cap shows surface wear to the wool nap and fine age crazing to the surface of the visor, as well as some relatively subtle tracking, but the cap body is without holes or damage. The interior leather sweatband remains present, with a separation at the rear seam. The interior lining is maker marked and dated 1914-1915. Overall the cap is in very good condition and it makes a fine appearance.
