WWI German Aircraft Insignia

This style of cross came into general use in March / April 1918 and was used until the end of the war. It measures about 31″ X 30″. The clear finish, as part of the manufacturing process, has toned with age. The cloth is supple and shows no paint loss. There is a cut along one edge of the cross, which was done when the insignia was removed from the aircraft.
