WWI French Fundraising Medal with Marshal Joffre

The silvered bronze medal is approximately 1-1/8 inches in diameter. The obverse depicts Marshal Joffre, while the reverse presents a 75 mm field gun, with the wording of “GLOIRE AUX ALLIÉS” (“Glory to the Allies”) and “CAMPAGNE 1914-15” with the listed allied nations of France, Russia, England, Belgium, Serbia, and Japan. The medal was sold during World War I charity drives in France to raise funds for the war effort and to support artillery troops and their families.
