WWI French 12th Infantry Regiment Officer’s Tunic and Kepi

$550.00

The set is comprised of the officer’s black wool tunic and the matching kepi. The tunic shows age and storage soiling, but it is without holes, damage or repairs. The collar bears the bullion embroidered insignia of the 12th Infantry Regiment. On the upper left breast are the ribbons for the World War I Croix de Guerre with palm and star; the French World War I Commemorative Medal; and the World War I Allied Victory Medal. Above the ribbons are loops for the wear of the medal bar. The interior lining shows wear and a few holes, but it is generally intact. The black wool officer kepi has several scattered holes, primarily on the upper right front side and on the left rear area. However, the interior lining beneath the wool exterior is itself black, and the holes are not particularly visible. The silver braid is loose in a few spots. The visor surface exhibits age crazing. The interior lining is intact and it is maker marked by a firm in Valenciennes, France. Overall the set is in very good condition.
