The exterior finish shows spots and surface wear. The liner and the chin strap are intact. The interior rim of the helmet is marked “D/F 16”, reflecting production of the helmet in 1916 by the firm of James Dixon & Sons using steel supplied by Thomas Firth and Sons. There appears to be a unit designation or a name scratched onto the exterior rim of the helmet.
