WWI British Brodie Helmet with U.S. Army Engineers Insignia

The exterior finish of the helmet shows spots and scuffs, but the finish is largely intact. The front of the helmet bears the painted insignia of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with the designation of “Verdun” and the date of 1918. The full liner is intact, including the central rubber crown ring. The leather chin strap is worn but it is intact. The interior helmet rim is maker marked “HS” for the firm of Hadfields Ltd., Sheffield, whose helmets were frequently supplied to the American Expeditionary Force. Overall very good field used condition.
