WWI American Library Association Woman’s Uniform

$1,100.00

A very high quality uniform for a woman serving in the American Library Association during World War I. The uniform is constructed of a very fine forest green gabardine wool. The belted jacket has two upper pleated pockets and two lower pockets, all with button flap covers. The jacket is fully lined and even has two round weights on the bottom hem to keep the lines of the jacket straight. One lapel carries the pin back insignia of the American Library Association. The long belted skirt perfectly matches the jacket in cut, material, and wear. The skirt has one small square area where a period repair was made, approximately 3/4 of an inch by 1 inch in size. The initials “BK” are written inside of the waist of the skirt.  Overall the uniform is in excellent condition.
