Wartime Third Reich Leaflet to Prevent a Run On the Banks After D-Day

$75.00

The leaflet is dated August 9, 1944, only a few weeks after the D-Day invasion and the defeats of the German forces in Normandy, and it bears the heading of the Third Reich Finance Ministry. The leaflet is approximately 8-5/8 inches by 9-3/8 inches. The leaflet begins: “The events of the last few weeks have obviously prompted the civilian population to make major withdrawals of their savings. Needless to say, such selfish action on the part of savers does not [just] have the most detrimental effect on the balance of the Reich‘s financial management, but [it] also demonstrates a distrust of the stability of the mark which cannot be tolerated under any circumstances”. The leaflet shows a horizontal fold line, an angular corner crease, and mild age toning.
