War of 1812 American Artillery Shako Plate

Approximately 2 1/2 by 3 1/4 inches. Brass artillery shako plate in excavated condition. The reverse of the plate shows filler that was used to stabilize the plate due to cracks. The reverse wire mounting loops are intact. A old collection identifier is on the reverse lower corner, which states “John Powell Collection”, with an inventory number.
