Waffen SS Second Pattern Summer / Autumn Oak Leaf Pattern Camouflage Helmet Cover

The Waffen SS camouflage helmet cover is constructed of three panels of water resistant, cotton duck, printed camouflage material. The cover is reversible, with a predominantly green and brown summer camouflage pattern on one side, and a predominantly orange and brown autumn camouflage pattern on the other side. The cover has three riveted attachment clips on the lower edges, as well as foliage loops. The cover consists of three machine sewn panels designed to fit the contours of the German helmet. The bottom edge of the cover has three tooled and crimped steel securing rocker clips secured to the cover by domed retaining rivets.. There is one clip to each side panel and one to the reverse center of the cover. Each of the clips have a semi-circular steel crescent to fasten onto the lower edges of the helmet. The forward edge of the cover has a dual-ply, overlapping lip, with rows of reinforcement stitching to the forward edge designed to fit snugly over the front edge of the helmet. The cover also has three sets of dual, horizontal, foliage loops to both sides, with one set to each side panel and the other set near the front of the central panel. Each of the foliage loops has a central stitched seam resulting in total of twelve individual loops to attach foliage to each camouflage side. The cover shows signs of wear and use in the field, but the colors remain strong and the cover is without tears or holes and it is in overall excellent service used condition.
