Waffen SS Officer’s M43 Field Cap

The M43 field cap is constructed from field gray Italian wool-tricot blend material with a whipcord weave. The crown of the cap is piped in white.  The front displays a machine woven Waffen SS trapezoid insignia, introduced in1944, that is machine sewn to the front of the cap in a manner does not pierce the lining. The interior is fully lined in two shades of rayon, with the interior sides being covered in a gray-brown material while the crown of the cap is lined with a light green material. The interior bears a size stamp of “57”. The exterior is without stains or holes, and the interior shows few signs of wear. The cap is quite clean and is in overall excellent condition.
